Interview

For my interview, I interviewed a friend but am not going to say who it is because i don't feel the need for that. I interviewed this girl because shes experienced a abortion herself and would know more about it then myself. This interview took place on April 1st.

1.) Why did you make the choice to have an abortion instead of having the baby?

-Because i was too young, i was only 3 weeks into the pregnancy, i wasn't ready and i was going off to college in two weeks.

2.)How old were you?

-17 but i wasn't ready for a baby, i wanted to get my education and settle down so i could take well care of my child when i had one.

3.)How long did the paperwork take?

-Under 30 minutes.

4.)Where did your abortion take place?

-In a clinic in Augusta, it was almost just like a hospital.

5.)How much did it cost?

-Around $540.00.

6.)How long did the actual abortion process take?

-5 to 10 minutes, not long at all.

7.)What was the process?

-after paper work, i have to get your blood taken and tested, if i was a negative they would have needed to get me a extra shot.

-then they give me some kind of pill to make me relax and told me to go back out in the waiting room.

-after the wait they took me into a room, were i have to lay down like i was getting a papsmer.

-there was a nurse beside me, and a doctor down "there". They gave me a shot in the curvics to numb everything. The other nurse was trying to get my mind off everything by getting me to look at pictures of fish.

-Then i heard some kinda of machine turn on, and it was over within 5-10 minutes later, it felt like bad PMS cramps and a lot of blood.

-When done i was asked to clean myself up because everything was really bloody.

-I went to the recovery room after that, they gave me pills so i wouldn't be sore the day after. They wouldn't let me leave till i ate something.

-Then they had therapists talk to me to make sure i was feeling okay about everything.

-Then i went home and spelt for almost 2 days straight.

8.)Do you regret it?

No, it was what was best at the time. I would never have another one, I don't agree with it and don't believe its a kind of birth control either.
